  • Ghana Adventure Travel

There are several reasons why Ghana is a popular adventure travel destination. First of all, the people of Ghana are probably the friendliest people in Africa. They enjoy the simple things in life and are very laidback. The political status is stable and the people are satisfied. They don’t need a lot to be happy and the country is rich of Gold. This environment made the people of Ghana a relaxed and friendly population.

Another reason why the country is so popular is the language. The country was colonized by the British and so the official language became English. The third reason to choose Ghana is because it’s a really cheap country to live. Food and drinks are extremely cheap and the bars and restaurants provide excellent food. It is easy, cheap and fun to try the local dishes.

Ghana Adventure TravelPeople looking for an African adventure holiday are often scared off by the high crime rate. Ghana is currently a very safe and stable country, especially compared to other African countries.

The wildlife resorts in Ghana are not as massive as the other ones in Africa. The newest national park has recently been finished and is called the Kakum Nature Reserve. The new park is a big success due to its unique attraction; an aerial walkway trough and over the rainforest that gives a whole new perspective on the forest. You will be able to attend a guided tour twice a day.

If you are looking for a regular Safari you can go to any of the wildlife reserve in the country. All of them offer Safari tours with overnight stays within the park. The most popular parks are the Owabi Wildlife Sanctuary, the Bui National Park and the Bia National Park.

Ghana is a water sport paradise for daredevils. Most of the coastline has been restricted for swimming because of the dangerous tides and waves. This doesn’t scares of the surfers which make use of the high waves. Around Accra the sea is a bit quieter, which attracts a lot of leisure tourism. When you follow the coastline to the west from Accra you will find the best fishing grounds of Ghana. The most popular fishing experience is to join a local fisherman to sport hunt for a Barracuda on the open sea. These fishing boats leave from the harbour of Accra.

Something a bit less common but a popular Ghanaian tradition is horse racing. If you are looking for a leisure activity during your active vacation, take a look at the racecourse of Accra on a Saturday.
